Danish Cord Lounge Chair

Inspired by bohemian decor, this lounge chair is made of white oak and danish cord. The cord has been hand weaved into the chair, creating a strong, yet comfortable seat. Building this chair gave me a lot to “firsts”— it was my first chair and my first time using danish cord. Historically, I’ve stayed away from chairs because they are notoriously difficult things to build. Not only do they have to structurally support the weight of the average person, but they also need to have the right proportions to be comfortable. Luckily, none of those issues can be said of this chair. It is incredibly strong and extremely comfortable. I imagine I’ll be spending a lot of time reading in this spot!
